Rice fields, Vietnam:
Rice fields is a photographic journey across Vietnam in 2012. The focus of the project is the way of living of Vietnamese people almost 40 years after the infamous American War (as they call what Westerns call the Vietnam war) through their faces and daily life.
An inheritance of the conflict is the fact that in Vietnam only 5% of the population is older than 65 years old. Travelling the country nowadays it is very difficult to find people willing to talk about those times, either for demographic reasons (most of the population did not live the conflict) or for a strong determination to forget and move forward.
Today Vietnam is an inspiring country dominated by the contrast of the peaceful countryside, where the RICE FIELDS goes as far as the eye can see, and the urban chaos of Hanoi and Ho Chi Min.
